Google provides cloud services, but it is important, maintaining a local copy of your data. This ensures that you have the data, even if your account is compromised, Google will fail. CloudPull easy to backup your Google account on your Mac. It supports Gmail, Google Contacts, Google Calendar, and Google Drive (formerly Docs). By default, the application backs up your data every hour and keeps old points in time within 90 days.
CloudPull creates backups in the following ways:
* e-mail messages that can be imported to Apple Mail
* Your tags can be imported into Apple Mail as separate folder box
* Contacts can be imported to Apple Contacts
* Calendar entries can be imported to Apple Contacts
* Google documents, presentations, spreadsheets can be opened in Microsoft Office, the same can be imported to Pages, Keynote, or Numbers, respectively.
* Other documents from Google Drives are backed up in their native format.

CloudPull allows you to work with your backup google right on your Mac:
* You can view the current backup and backups older backups
* You can view the backup via Quick Look (quick view)
* You can restore items by simply dragging in the Finder

What's new in Version 2.8:
* CloudPull is now compiled using Xcode 7 against the OS X 10.11 (El Capitan) SDK.
* When exporting or restoring a Google Drive file, CloudPull now sets the creation date and modification date of the file to that of the Google Drive item.
* When saving a backup file that has a long file name, CloudPull now truncates the base name to 200 characters. Previous versions truncated the base name to 32 characters.
* CloudPull now uses Apple's JSON parsing library instead of a third party JSON parsing library.
* CloudPull now uses a newer version of the MailCore IMAP library for backing up Gmail.
* When moving backups, CloudPull no longer cycles through backup files if the "Lock Backup Files" setting is off.
* The goldenhillsoftware.com web site is now served exclusively via HTTPS. All links in the app have been updated accordingly.
* Some troubleshooting aids have been added to the Help menu.
